Alright.
With the numerous issues the engine in my 2000 Explorer 4x4 was having, I decided to just replace the engine entirely. I bought a 4.0L SOHC "E" that was removed from a Ford Explorer from the salvage yard.
Both motors are 4.0L SOHC VIN E.
Now, I didn't notice it until my brother and I were getting down the engine removal tonight.
Engine inside the 2000 Explorer:
OG 962 AA "4X4" On the sticker
Only have one fuel line coming in and splits off at the rails.
Test Port extends straight out.
Engine to be put in:
OG 920 AA "2X4" On the sticker
Two Fuel Lines coming in to the motor.
Test Port comes out towards the Oil cap.
Two questions.
1) Would the 920 only being a 2X4 work on a 4X4 Drivetrain.
2) Any easy, and safe way to work with the fuel line problems?
Also, how are people getting to the top 4 transmission bolts to disconnect the transmission from the motor? We can only get to the bottom four.
