What would people be willing to pay for the step by step instruction manual and fabricated pieces to bolt the Eaton M90 supercharger from a Thunderbird SC to a 4.0L SOHC?

alot to consider on that offer

Well I don't have a SOHC. so this isn't even an issue for me.

But when you present this question most people on here would probably feel that information is free. Thats just the way we do it around here.

Now if you are selling parts, consider this.....

whatever you make isn't proven yet.

what kind of tech support would you be offereing on those parts and the install?

Fabricating new parts that bolt perfectly to your machine may not fit exactly the same on somebody else's....say hello to proto-typing.

And nobody wants to buy anything without a warranty.

Just a few things to think about before you start your supercharger company.

I'm not saying that you can't make it and have it work. or that you couldn't start producing complete kits to sell.

I'm just saying maybe you should share your info with others, perhaps look into getting instructions for any machine shop to work off of for fabbing parts up.

The more people that start tossing around ideas on the same goal the better. 2 brains on a problem is better than 1

if/when you pull it off some people would definately be interested in talking to you. But as the price rises, the real interest will die off if you can't offer the things proven systems offer.

well i dont think hes selling the unit, just the instructions and bracket. im sure the other companies that due sell the blower and bracekts charge more for thier customer support. however, i guess this wouldnt be a bad deal for people with a lil bit of know how, and the willingness to try something different. im nto saying id try it, but who knows.. someone might be willing to try it.

My point wasnt to withold information for profit, as soon as its done I will post the steps to the mod, FREE OF CHARGE I was just curious. You are right about the warrantee. I was just throwing the idea out there

i understand

I'm just saying as soon as parts are being sold what happens when those parts don't work.

as the buyer are you just out of your money. as the seller is he out his money on a return.

stuff wouldn't be a problem if everything bolts right up and works smooth as butter

but then again how often does that happen? I mean how many times have drop brackets and radius arms been redesigned by the lift companies? and how many people have sent back there defective sagging springs for replacements?

i'm just saying share you info, give updates on your progress and yes, some people might be interested in getting you to fab up their parts.

just don't go into this expecting to make a few bucks from the get go

I never planed on selling it. It was purely curiosity.

I might be interested

Get yours put together and We will see. I want 33's some day. If I lose any more power I won't be able to climb like I want to. So, I am interested but put the thing together first. Being able to buy a kit would be nice to not have to fabricate my own parts. If I have to adjust anything (bore out a bolt hole just a lil') that kind of thing doesn't bother me. If I can't get the thing going in one weekend or upon doing so my Check Engine Light comes on and I have fried something. Then, yeah, I'll be upset. But, I am interested. Lord knows I'll take a few risks with the thing (I had it burried but good within the first 24hrs of owning it and had to get to work that afternoon. AND I WENT WHEELING BY MYSELF ON BALD STOCK TIRES.

I guess

I guess what I am trying to say is ¿What kind of parts are we talking about? IF it is a million parts I may not be interested at all (too complicated) If it is several parts but not to complicated I am interested If some are big parts and the thing is simple I might go $40 maybe a little more but, lets see what is involved. Get it put on this week and tell us how it went.

Im pretty sure I can do it all just by changing out the metal hose with silicone for more flexability, possibly adding a pully and a mount up plate for the intake

Huh

¿Huh? I don't like the idea of siliconing something up to my ride.

NO NO NO not silconing, the make silcone hoses that are more resiliant to heat and the elements as aposed to metal or rubber

Oh

I see. That sounds a lot less red neck and a lot more doable

Delete me Please. Sorry :)

Don't know much, but helped a friend do mods on a supercoupe (which was pointless enough-- without going crazy). They're very different. You'll be stopping all the time and taking your giant bag of parts out at every stop. That's if all goes as planned. I respect your zeal, but I'd rather squeeze a 454 into a Chevette; it would be cooler, and infinitly easier than what your set up would be, and what it would be built to accomplish. Also: (and again I respect your zeal) keep in mind the fleeting nature of auto lust. A friend of mine decided to risk it all by opening a shop which worked soley on mods for Merkurs. You may be too young to even know what they are. I'm fairly sure it's been so long that I forgot how to spell the model, rest assured, he did not become a rich man based on that venture. Good luck.
