Just ordered my 4.56s from 4wheelparts today. Should be here in a week or so. Total was $542 shipped with they're current go big special. Not bad at all....I'm excited.

You won't be disappointed with the improvement. That's for sure :D

I'm about a week away from installing my 4.56's as well. I'm expecting a huge performance improvement from the 3.73's. Let us know how it turns out!

It's like night and day! you'll like it, did you get the lockers too?

I didn't get lockers at this time as I'm on a college budget and need my truck for winter driving also. I'm having the factory limited slip repacked though, $54 for a clutch kit from summit I think. A Powertrax no-slip will be an option next spring.....

So what's your current ratio?

I am also getting 4.56s installed next week. :D I'm also having a e-z posi put in.

I have 3.73s right now...take off power is ok, but highway and passing is terrible.

are you doing the install yourself? if you do, let me know how it goes, I'm OK with spending the $$ for new gears, but its hard to justify the $$$$$ to have some 2 bit mechanic around here install them.

I'm not doing the install myself. Eastcoast Performance in Ellsworth is doing it. $40 an hour, whether or not you buy your parts from them. I did pull the front 3rd member myself so that'll save a bunch of labor. I'm running 2WD right now, no driveshaft, no axleshafts....

good idea to save some cash, let us know how it turns out! I'd like to swap before the summer, but if I can find a V8 mustang I like, the explorers going on the back burner for a while...but thats a different thread!
