4 auto not

Hi i have a 97 ford explorer and the 4 auto does not work.4 high and low work just auto does not work.I can spin the tires and still nothing.It is a controle trac.What could fix the problem?

Wish i could be more useful but if i were you id be happy, on my last 2 2000s 4auto drove me nuts, i was dieing for 2 wheel. In any scenerio 4 auto never benefited me, and actually always scared me, i thought id tear my t-case apart
