I've got a '00 Sport and want to swap out the rear springs just like everyone wants to do. I've found some F-code springs at a nearby boneyard from a '96 with 115,000 km (69,000 miles). He called them "low mileage" and said they're in good shape. They could be beat to hell and I wouldn't know the difference. Is 69K miles "too old", or should I keep looking?

TIA

I got mine off a '92 or so. I think they're pretty good. They do like to let the rear bottom out. Might swap them out again sometime down the road.

69k miles isnt to bad, you're lucky to even know the history of the springs. They're more than likely fine, there isn't a whole lot to a leaf spring to break. If you're concerned about sagging springs I'd reccomend buying some new ones from ford. What I'd do is buy them if they're a decent price and if they're saggy spend 30 bucks and get a set of add a leafs, they should level everything out.

Well, it's so hard to know what I bought until I get them on. There really weren't a lot to choose from in my neck of the woods. Your "add a leaf" option sounds like a good one if needed.

Thanks
