Hey guys,
Now that I have approval to start a new toy, I am beginning the research to build a 91-94 sport with a coil-sprung, 4-link rear axle. Has anyone done this on their Ex? Any good resources?

Thanks a bunch!

Jon

Only one i know of was Cory... and he used 1/4 elliptic leaves instead of coils but its still a 4-link. You will have to go fuel cell.

Great point on the fuel cell - hadn't thought of that (it won't stop me though :) )

Now to think of where to put the tank...

Just put the fuel cell where the spare tire is under the X. That should be a good place it will keep it out of the way and add the weight to the rear where its needed
I was thinking of putting my tank there when I do my future project.

I was thinking of the same thing just to get the weight off of the driver's side and in a more "usable" location (i.e. over the rear axle).

However, this isn't a simple swap, is it? Don't we have to address the return loop and evaporation pipes, etc. ?

Dave.

Well no its not just a simple swap because the stock tank will not fit in this location. So you will need to get a fuel cell or a custom made gas tank. And you will need longer tubes for every thing.

No, I realize that the stock tank won't fit back there and I know I'll need a fuel cell. I was more concerned with hooking up all the tubes. Isn't there some sort of loop for the fuel to return from the pressurized fuel injection system? And, aren't there evaporator lines and the like? I've had a peak inside the frame rail near the gas tank. Looks like a lot of spaghetti to me.

The fuel cells I'm familiar with have an opening for gas and a couple of vent ports and a feed line.

Where is the stock fuel pump? If it's internal (to the tank), then there's that to consider, too.

D.
