4 R5000's or 2 R9000's For a 5.5" Lift?

I only have $150 on shocks for my lift. Now should I get 4 rancho 5000's or should I just get 2 rancho 9000's upfront and leave 2 stock shocks in the back? Please post your opinion.

Well unless you do some creative relocation of the stock shocks they wont have enough travel for the SOA.

Oh really I was under the impression that I could use my stock length shocks in the back. That kind of limits it then. How much longer will the new shocks need to be?

i say go with 4 of the 5000's.

i spent the money for the 9000's but they werent really worth it, unless you buy that control module but it costs $150. And the 5000's are great shocks.

I believe if you call rancho and tell them what truck you have and how much lift they'll find the part # for the shocks you need...

I have the 9000's and if you can afford them - they are great shocks (I got mine free - a take off from a job at my kid's 4x4 shop). But, what I have noticed is that once they are set, I leave them alone. Get the 5000's they are fine shocks.

You might think about longer ones in front, however. I typically add the F 250 shock mount and go long for more travel in front. I run Jeep XJ 2" lift shocks in front of my 92. Get the measurments and ask Rancho for a part number - as long as you are modifying and lifting- getting a specific shock that allows long travel is a good step to take.
