4 wheel drive noise?

when i switch my 4 wheel drive switch to 4 wheel low, i can hear a "clunk" noise as it engages. is this normal or is something wrong? and if so how major or minor could it be. i alway make sure i have it in nuetral before engaging to 4 low. thanks for any help[/FONT]:exp::exp:

My '96 makes a clunk sound when going to Low as well. Always has, though I rarely use it.
