My 4 wheel drive does not work on my 93 explorer, I push the 4 wheel drive button but nothing happens. It worked when i forst got it. I am a shade tree machanic and can fix and replace some things. Can someone tell me the first things i need to check before I send it to a real machanic

I also had a 93 E.B., I found out there is a reset button on the traction control card. It is located in the back driver side, where the jack is, behind the interor cover. I'm sure others can help. Check there first. My wife tried engaging the 4x4 button at 70mph, and it took out this card. I guess they just reset the button and everything was fine. Try it. Hope i helped. Richard

do the dash lights come on at all? how do you know it isnt working? it could be any # of things... the most common problem is the shift motor...... also the power module in the back as mentioned above can be the cu;prit most likely as well
