Alright.. Some of you know that my transfer case and my transmission started acting up this past weekend. Let me give you a run down on the symptoms.
After approximately an hour or so of driving, my RPMS were atleast 1000 above what they should be. From a stop, I had no movement in D or R but it 2nd and 1st. I checked the fluid and it was low so I topped it off. After running it thru the gears, there was no change until I put my foot on the ground and pushed toward the direction I wanted to go. Which subsequently caused my O/D light to flash but it went in gear none the less. I plan on doing a manual flush on the transmission and filter change hoping that will be the cause since the fluid has over 60K miles on it (whoops) and was never flushed since I had it at 40K miles.
The transfer case is also having issues. In 4WD on the skinny pedal, you can hear the transfer case clanking. I suspect the chain on the transfer case is stretched a bit.
Does anyone think the lack of Drive & Reverse and the transfer case could be related? I'm wondering since I can push the truck and it'll go in gear.
Also should I do a flush first and then change the tranny filter or vice versa?
