4r55e Are there different cases?

Please direct me to a thread, if I missed it searching.

95 Explorer 4R55E, 2wd, 4.0L

Transmission went out-Ok-it happens.
Ordered rebuilt from AutoZ...
This case is different- starter motor needs to be smaller, speed sensor is on body instead of tail.
Old speed sensor won't work.

Suggestions? The only course I can see, is to take it back.

sounds like someone has sold you a '98 & up 5R55 tranny on the sensor question, but there is no reason the started won't fit ???

all 4.0 bellhousings have the same bolt pattern & starters should fit with no problem...

Same bolt pattern,,, but different shape for the starter. There are actually two shapes of starters for this vehicle. I will try to post pics.

At least it is shady underneath.
