So I am dropping the pan on my '96 on Monday in my auto trans class. I am just putting on a new filter, and re adding the fluid I drained out, but I want to make fluid changing easier for myself by adding the B&M drain plug kit. So where to put it is my main question? I was thinkin about at the bottom of the dimple on the pan, but will that block the filter pickup? Anybody had expirence doing this, any input is great!

Thanks, Harold

That's where I put my drain plug. What you can do is after drilling the hole, install the plug hand tight and see how many threads are exposed from the locknut, remove and grind off the excess threads.
Trans fluid will probably weep a small amount, if you have enough time, using epoxy adhesive would prevent this. Use red loctite on the locknut.
Or braze the plug to pan.
