4R70W Transmission shudder

170,000 miles AWD

Shudders when shifting up into overdrive (4th)

Replaced the valve body

Flushed the fluid with Mercon V three times (completely)

Tried friction modifier . . . it helped briefly

What would you do next?

1. Replace transmission and torque converter with rebuilt and new ?
2. Replace the torque converter ?
3. Live with it (deactivate the overdrive with the button on the gear shift)
4. Sell the vehicle, its a downhill slope from here.
5. or ???????

If it was the TC, it would do it on all the gears. It might be worn band?

The description points to a worn converter clutch, the briefly improvement by using a friction modifier (shudder fix?) as well.

I would replace the TC
