Hey guy, I have a 95 Eddie Bauer with the 4405 tcase. I'm having an issue. Went up into the mountains to drive around in the snow with friends. Got stuck tcase is in 4low. Motor was pulled cause it went out and manually put it in 4low. While I was stuck I noticed that only my rear wheels were spinning. Not my front. Got home lifted the ex off the ground and put it in gear. Still only rear wheels spinning. My question is what could cause this? I've rear in the search about the magnets in the tcase with all that said. Maybe is there a way I can bypass the front axle actuator or the magnets?

The magnetic clutch in the truck-case is the entire way it functions. If that’s bad it’s time for a rebuild, or another used case.

As for the actuator, it’s a $25 part, I’d try replacing it first.

First I would measure whether there is 12V on the brown wire to the transfer case (when in 4WD mode), and a good ground. No 12V, no t-case magnetic clutch activation. There's wiring diagrams in my sig below.
