Hello, I am a new to this Forum,

This is my 10th Explorer, I bought my first one new in 1990. My current Explorer is a 2010 Limited AWD with the 4.6L. I am finishing up a front and rear Eaton Truetrac Conversion with a 3:73 Gear Change from the Factory 3:55's. Everything is going really smooth thanks to you. While I'm waiting for custom driveshafts to finish that portion of the build....

I have started converting the factory "mechanical fan clutch combo" to a single Flex-A-Lite 16" Flex Wave electric fan.

I haven't been able to find 4th gen. threads that use the factory clutch fan wiring to engage the electric fan relay circuit. My Explorer has five Factory wires going to the fan clutch, I'm not quite sure on how to figure the wiring out.

Basically I'm thinking " install a 4 pin relay to " power the fan " and the stock fan wiring engages the relay when the ECU calls for the fan clutch?

Is this even possible? Any help would be much appreciated,

Douglas

I know this is an old thread but did you ever figure anything out about this? I was looking into this as well.
