4WD issues with a flashing O/D light.

Hi I'm John just purchased a 95 explorer xlt from an original owner.Going to use it for the winters up here in NY and try my hand on the beach once in a while.
i tested it on the beach the other day and encountered two problems.First I don't have the manual to guide me thru-I'm looking to buy one .
A flashing light "od/off" keeps flashing on dashboard can seem to shut it down. Ever since engaging the 4 wd system I get a cluck when declerating its not in 4wd.Thanks for any insight John

The flashing od light is a transmission concern.

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the transmissions & transfer cases section. A flashing O/D light indicates that you have a code. Find out what the code numbers are.
