hey guys im new here and i have a problem with my x. I recently lifted the front with 2" coil spacers and bigger shackles in the rear. Now its winter time and i just popped it into 4x4 high then low and there is a noise coming from the diff that was never there with stock height. I dont know if the u joints might be going bad or the angle of the shafts is hitting something. I had to get an alignment after i lifted the front but they never got it fully straight. The truck stills pulls to one side, I dont know if that has anything to do with it or what. I need help with it, and i was hoping someone out here would know. But if you have anymore questions just ask me and ill tell more about my problem. Thanks guys hope to here from you all. shaun

Is the noise definitely coming from the diff? How old are the U-joints? Under normal use (no off-road) they last 100K. When you lifted the truck you changed the angle of the U-joints. Replacing U-joints in the front drive shaft is fairly easy.. see the U-joint link in my sig line for info and pics...

When lifting the front end with just coils and spacers it can be hard to align since the camber bushings often get maxed out before correct alignment can be obtained. Lift kits have drop down brackets, extended radius arms etc. to keep a lifted truck close to its original alignment geometry..

How are your RA bushings?

Im not sure about the bushings. All u joints and bushings on the truck are all original since day one and my truck has 199k on it . I know that after my alignment the tires are still not normal looking, as if they need another shime on each side. But where would i go about getting ra bushings?

so i checked my ra bushings and they are going to need replaced and i found them at autozone 20.99. Now tell me is the process hard and is there a forum to help me out for them?

also search on radius arm bushings and check out the Repair info link in my sig line for various links to common issues...

i talked to the 4x4 tech near my house and he said maybe my u joints were gonna out it in this up coming monday to find out, i hope that its them and not anything expensive
