4wd light

hi i put my explorer into 4 wd low took it out an now 4wd low light stays on tried the engage motor removal and turned shaft to high but no change to dash light when i turn the lights on the 4wd light goes out i seem to think it could be a electrical problem and was wondering if any one else has had this happen to them:exp:

I'm not sure what it could be, but removing the negative terminal on the battery cable for 20 min has fixed 90% of my 4wd light problems. I know it's stupid and simple, but start there.
