4wd not working

my 92 ex has manual; hubs but the 4wd is not working. the hubs engage but once i put her in 4wd all i get is a lot of clunking and no front wheel spin. the front end shakes and clunks like it is trying to engage and lock in but nothing. hmmm, any suggesetions?

Sounds like one or both of your hubs are broke or worn out

i just noticed guys that without locking the hubs that i get the same noises coming out of the front end when i simply turn on the switch from inside the cab. does this help?

Maybe u joint on the front drive shaft?
