4wd problem

the 4wd and 4wd low indicator lights keep coming on and off at the same time when the switch is in 2wd, what is the problem, also when the lights are on it feels a little like 4wd is engaged

Sounds like their blinking, which if its the case, the truck is trying to tell you somethings wrong. I believe you can count the blinks and its a code, not sure tho.

it is blinking but it blinks a few times with both then just the 4wd low the 4wd stays solid and if i turn the switch to 4wd then right back to 2wd it goes off for a while then starts again, but it looked like it was doing it everytime i hit a bump and now after driving a few times today it doesn't do it anymore, also my friend thinks it could be the 4wd shift motor.
