I have 1999 explorer sport. i know its a 4wd. my questions is does sport come with full time 4wd? i have knob on dash for auto/4wd lo and 4wd hi. but if i keep it on auto does it mean full time 4wd is on?

Auto means that if any slippage in the rear wheels is detected, it kicks the fronts in. Im not sure what ratio, but I think when it slips its 50/50.

No. In Auto it remains in 2wd until it senses loss of traction.

Search for the Brown Wire Mod to disable the automatic 4WD.

(Basically its a switch to turn the automatic on or off)
