4wd tries to engage when turning

When i turn a corner i hear a noise a pop then a noise like a baseball card in a bicycle tire. It seems worse when its cold outside. if i out it in reverse and back up it will go away. never happens driving straight .Could someone please help the mechanics i spoke to are just short of retarded and shouldnt be allowed to work on peoples cars. thank you

Auto hubs still, right? That sounds a lot like a problem with the auto hubs.

That's the signature of a broken autohub. Time to put on a set of manual hubs. Pretty easy to do and will cost ya $150.00-$200.00 for all parts (Hubs and adapter kit) and the special socket. New auto hubs cost considerably more and are no more reliable than the originals. Do a search here on manual hubs and you will find TONS of info.
