I just noticed after start up the 4x4 lights start blinking one after the other, and do so a couple of times, then go off. Is that normal? Is the gem just doing its thing? I have only owned this rig for three days now. It is a '95 xlt w/control trac. Switch on dash says, 2wd/4wd auto/4wd low. I dont even know if it works yet, as I have not drove it on anything "loose". I read on someones post, that if the lights are blinking, then something is messed up and needs a dealer computer hook up. Dont have the coinage for that right now. Should I be concerned?

It ended up being a simple fix for me, a $7 relay under the dash. Right under the driver side dash you will see a relay box with relays. The big square one fixed my power windows and my flashing lights. If this isn't your problem then do a search around here for shift motor problems. But it is hard to tell until you acctually test the 4wd. Some of them I guess I have heard can just get out of line and just need to be reset. Keep reading around the forums and also try to test out the 4wd, put it up on stands if you have to.

Yeah, I replaced that one on Sat. It did get two out of four windows and the moon roof going. This control trac is new to me, its not like the 4 wheel drive on my 94. Cant tell if its working or not. I did put in 4x4 low and it did lock into place. just dont know about Auto 4x4.
