4x4 button-not working all of a sudden?93 xlt

I have a 93 xlt explorer. just recently a big snow storm hit and i was happy because all of my other family has no four wheel drive and i was the only one going out that night. i go and wamr my car for ten minutes like always and press the 4x4 button....no light nothing. just doesnt work...what can i do i need that i mean....i love four wheel driving.Thanx alot i appreciate the help.
