To all that have a flashing 4X4 high light flashing.Do not assume that it is your control module.I purchased a new module and still had the same problem. After searching the forum here a discovered it could be many things.Mine was the ground wire right at the connector of the shift motor.Ran a ground from the frame to the broken wire and all is well.I always had 4X4 low just no high and auto.Low must use a different ground. So if your 4x4 high light is flashing 10 times and then out for 2 minutes or so,i would first check the wires at the shift motor connector before purchasing the module.

A couple times a year my 4wd lights flash, I think 6 times then stops for a while and comes back. While its like this the 4wd doesnt work. All I do is disconnect the battery and when I reconnect the problem is solved and its normal again.

Thanks for the tip. Same thing happened to me. Replaced the module and nothing. Turned out to be a bad ground on the shift motor. Good to have the 4x4 working.

Not exactly. "LOW" is activated mechanically, driven by the electric motor mounted on the back of the transfer case. "HIGH" is engaged by energizing the electronic clutch WITHIN the case. imp
