just bought 83 bronco and decided to lock in manual hubs and put transfer case into high.went onto some, gravel and noticed at slow pace tires where making a binding noise in the gravel like they were working against each other.slowly pulled onto pavement and was getting intermitant chirping.could this be differant gear ratio's?front tag on d44 indicates limited slip no clue what rear is,but a 9''.

thanks rob.i was just concerned due to the fact that my other 4x4 does not do this.

Yup you'll notice some resistance since your front hubs are locked in.. I wouldn't suggest using the 4wd on pavement or on gravel..

Hmmm, what is your other 4x4?

When in 4wd on a solid surface, when turning, your front wheels are forced to spin at different rates. The tire on the outside of the turn has to travel a longer distance than the inner tire. This will cause the outer tire to "skip" to keep up with the other.

thanks my other 4x4 does not have locking hubs,im not use to this.

never really turned wheel, just drove forward.wheels still chirp.
