my 96 Ex I noticed tonight when pulling my escort out of the driveway that when in fulltime 4wd it I had a ratcheting sound coming from the front end in both high and low range but when in 4auto it doesn't make this sound at all. Is this a possible concern with the CV joints possibly? Trying to inspect in half lit evening it looked like the boot was ok so it should be full of grease and thats the only thing I can think that could possibly go wrong but never experienced that sound out of a 4X4 before so I'm wanting your opinion of where to start investigating when its done raining. Thanks
