need 4x4 help! ratcheting clunking

Last winter, my front end started ratcheting and clunking in 4x4, and sometime only one front tire would spin if i was in the snow while the other one would not. So i tried it again this year and same thing, only does it in 4x4. So i just recently cleaned the hubs the best i could with break cleaner and soaked overnight in ATF. Put the hubs back on and same thing. As soon as I put it in, when i start to drive, it pulls really hard to the passenger side, and makes a ratcheting and clunking sound. After put it back in 2x4, all problems go away. Any suggestions?
The hubs looked fine inside after they were cleaned, but im still thinking my hubs are the problem.

It maybe your front knuckles or your locking hub is more than likely cooked there are threads in here on how to check them

Installed warn manual lockers yesterday. all problems gone.
4x4 works like a charm now
