I've been doing alot of reading I did the switch test on the left rear panel and my red light stays on.Does the mean the processor is bad or could it also be the actuator motor aswell .How do If its the processor and how do I fix it? Thanks guys i'm still trying to learn about this truck.Oh another question My front right tire seems to be a little off center I jacked it up and moved the wheel to check for movement and it seems to move a little from top to bottom what could it be?

Welcome to the forum! I would try this option next for the 4x4 problem. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123542&highlight=shift+motor+rebuild
A rebuild of the shift motor realigns everything back up and the 4x4 might actually work (plus its a free fix). This worked fo me when I thought it might be the switch. As for the tire up and down movement seems like a ball joint issue to me.

Thanks I'll try that I just never have time always working.

FastFords: I see you have another thread inquiring about buying a new shift motor. Did you every rebuild your old shift motor, or are you just replacing it?
