I am going to get a 1996 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4. I was wondering what the largest tire I could put on my explorer without a lift and since I eventually want to get a small lift (maybe 3 or 4 inches ), what lifts are out there for the 4x4 Explorers.

I've heard you can fit as big as 33s on the stock suspension. You might need to trim a little though? :dunno:

could i fit 265/75/16 on the explorer after a 4 inch lift ???

I've got them on mine with a 2" lift. Only trimmed a bit on the plastic molding. I have the tt(torsion twist) and shackle lift. Use the search feature if you need more info.
