Hi,
I'm gathering the parts to build another 5.0 for my Ex. I plan on a freshened up 87-88 Mustang bottom end, with a set of GT40p heads. I will most likely keep the mustang cam along with the Crane 1.7 roller rockers I already have. I'm well aware that the EXplorer valve springs are junk, and they will go. But Ive heard that Gt40 & GT40p heads take a different installed height valve spring, maybe also a different diameter too?? I can measure and shim if thats it, Could I use replacement springs for the earlier Mustang E7 heads? I also figure that I would ofcourse probably have to change retainers? If anyone has the specs. on both I'd appreciate them.
