When I had my FMS headers installed, I promised I would give a report of towing performance after using them for a while. The wife and I just finished a 12 hour pull, towing our 3800 lb travel trailer for about 600 plus miles through some pretty steep 2250 ft. grades in the SW Texas hills between Fredricksburg and Big Bend.
Without towing our trailer, I can definately feel the seat of the pants power increase, which is now almost seamless. Plus the engine is much quieter compared to the OE headers. Towing, fully loaded, I can only feel a slight difference in power increase, however.
The biggest plus is towing gas milage. I was averaging 12.5 towing with the OE headers, but it has now increased to 13.5 with FMS headers! Overall, I highly recommend the change to FMS headers for 5.0L owners. Mike
