5.0 Headers options after removing IFS

I have no tune on mine. The explorers are self learning from what I've been told. Also I'm pretty sure I have gt40 heads cause my plugs are super crooked. Still trying to figure out how to post pictures. Also mine has the egr internal so no help there sorry

I see the clearance looks good on the passenger side, if you have more pics you should start a build thread. It is always helpful to see how others have done things.

The GT-40P heads started in late 97, so unless yours have been swapped out they should be standard GT-40 heads. The difference externally is the angle of the spark plugs. The standard GT-40 and all other Windsor heads will point towards the front on the passenger side and rear on the drivers side. The "P" heads have very little angle and the plugs almost point straight out of the head. This usually interferes with some tubes and on the headers you have I have read elsewhere that drivers side has to be cut out and modified to work with the "P" heads. I am considering the Sanderson P headers since they are shaped very similar to the Hedmans and are made to fit the P heads.

Ahh. I definitely have the regular 40 heads then. I've been meaning to make a thread just takes time which I don't have

One more request, did you snap a pic of the driver's side? That would be very helpful to me. I know that the heatshield for the fuel lines is in the way, is that what you modified?
