Are there two sizes of OE factory sway bars on 1996 5.0 liter Limited Explorers? Looking at new poly bushings for my 96 Limited. My measurements may be a little off, but it seems the front OE bar on my Limited is about one and nine sixteenth inches( 1 & 9/16") in diameter and the rear is about 14/16". What would be translate to M/Ms? It seems some manufacturer's sets show 36MM for the front and 19MM for the rear on 95-97 Explorers would be small and may not fit. Thanks! Mike

While you are at it, why not replace the factory bars with beefier ones?

Al: I considered it. Used John Baker's bar, bushings, and Tokiko shocks on my 93 and they worked all worked fine together. Most of my driving is on road. I kind of believe just replacing the bushings is more cost effective, however, and coupled with my new Monroe Reflex shocks, should give me just the right amount of control/ride I am looking for. Hope I get some input as to the M/M diameter of the OE bars. Thanks Al. I appreciate your help & comments on this forum! Mike

Sure is, Gimp. Good to hear from you! Hope this 96 is as good as my 93 is. We shall see. Already changed the 96 over to Mobil 1 tranny fluid and put on Monroe Reflexes. Guess I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the 91-94s. They are awfully tough, well made, and the 4.0 has good, useable, and practical torque. Mike
