5.0L Header Milage Increase

Pleased to report our 96 5.0L has experienced a solid 1.0 MPG increase towing our travel trailer with FMS headers on a recent 600 plus mile trip. Towed out of overdrive with A/C all the way. Averaged 14.0 MPG, compared to 12.5-13.0 previously recorded without the FMS headers. For those considering them for a daily driver and towing, headers are definately worth the money on a 5.0L, IMO. Great report. I'm looking forward to towing with my FMS headers too. I got mine when everybody was talking about them on this fourm. Guess I got one of the last ones from Summit.

Chalie: I understand they are out of production and are no longer available from Ford Motor Sport. About the only chance you might have to locate some is to call the Ford Motorsport authorized local Ford dealers in the United States in hopes they will have a pair in stock that has not be sold yet. Nice report. That's my main reason for wanting them.

I e-mailed Gibson about a month ago and asked if they planned on making headers for us with 5.0L's.
This is their exact quote;
"Yes we do plan on making the headers but honestly no time soon. Probably not this year.
Thank you"

There is hope guys.

I've called FMS and they didn't seem interested at all that there was still a market for 5.0 headers.

I have an inquiry in with Edelbrock also, I'll post if there's any good news.

Man.. how can people not make these things? And wtf did FMS stop making them? Did they start making 4.6L Explorer headers or something?? Makes no sense to me.
