My 2000 Mountaineer has developed a interesting problem. You get in it, you start it up, you start to drive, then it beeps 5 times then stops and beeps 5 times again then stops and beeps 5 times etc. You get the point. Anyone have any idea what would cause this? The only thing I notice that is different, is that My vehicle used to have a air bag light on, and now it does not have a light on at all. I wonder if possibly the air bag light bulb finally burnt out, and this is why it is now beeping?!? Just a thought. Any good ideas out there?

Is your airbag light illuminating when you turn the key?

No, I dont have a light at all now, I used to. I guess the bulb finally gave up the ghost. I checked the seat air bag connectors, and found the passenger seat to have the wires cut from the connector. My guess is that I had something behind the seat, and moved the seat back, and it cut the wires. I soldered the wires back, an the beeping has quit, but still no air bag light. I will pull the dash apart tomorrow, and check that bulb out.

When you go to do the lights, the larger #194 bulbs are for cluster illumination. All of the indicator bulbs are smaller - I think they are #161 - and are readily available at most auto parts stores. Once you pull the cluster, you might want to consider buying the bulbs in bulk and just "relamping" the entire panel.

The airbag light is burnt out AND you have a SRS trouble code.
