The transmisson works perfectly until I drive 10-15 miles.
The colder it is outside, the longer I have to drive it be for the o/d light blinks.
The only thing I've noticed is that I have no engine braking in manual low when the transmisson is warmed up. Also, the engine runs about 500 RPM or more higher than is does when the tranny is cold.

From reading several posts, I'm wondering if I should put a rebuilt valve body in it. I' m open to suggestions. Thanks

Welcome to this forum! I would suggest that you get the codes read to find out what the flashing overdrive light is.

I plugged in my OBDII scan tool, but it shows no code - blinking or not.
Does it take a differernt scanner for transmission codes?

I just called a couple different tranny shops near my place and both of them scanned my codes for free.

Just throwing this out there, but the lack of engine braking points to a blown VB gasket(s).
If it IS blown, and you're already in there, I'd at least do the Ford separator plate and blow-off valve kit. This kit is supposed to cure the blown gasket problem.....

I haven't taken it apart yet. I think I'm gonna see if I can get the codes pulled. Thanks.

I talked to the previous owner. He said last summer when it was really hot
it came to a jerky stop a couple of times and he had to shut it off and wait awhile before it would move again each time. He said that's why he sold it.
I drove it 20 miles to work today - ran perfect - but it's Zero outside too.

I put in a torque converter in and a TC soleniod. Seems to be Ok now.

Code 135 and 1131 after install of 5r55e

I put in a TC soleniod and torque conveter to fix, but now I have codes 135 and 1131. The Tranny is working properly now.
Anyone?

P0135 = O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

P1131 = Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 1

If it were mine, I'd start by looking at the wiring for that oxygen sensor. That would be the upstream sensor on the passenger side.

Thanks NHALE63. I will crawl under it today and have a look see.
