5R55E was rebuilt, but it has no forward or reverse gears.

so i just got done putting it all back together after fully rebuilding tranny and throwing in a new H/D torque converter. however the moment of truth proved against skills and will not engage at all and the o/d light just starts flashing. i have no computer to pull codes till mon. but was wondering some possibilities? the one thing that i have to offer and was wondering was that on the new filter i forgot to add both the little O rings....would that be an issue?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the transmissions section. Check the electrical plug (bulkhead connector), range sensor, linkage, and the fluid level.

Leaving the o rings off is a problem, trans will suck air. Might just as well drop the pan and put them on, also check that the selector pin is engaged in the manual valve. Check those connectors like BB said, they also can cause same problem.
