5r55e whines/grinds and wont engage

I recently bought a 1998 2wd with trans. problems. It sounds like a whining/grinding noise all the time. No matter what gear im in it will not move and it whines/grinds. Could this be a bad pump or input shaft? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

It doesn't matter much what anyone thinks it is. Pump, shaft or what ever it has to come out and be rebuilt or replaced.

I was hoping that wasnt what I was goig to hear, guess junkyard here I come for a used one.
