Ok so i am in the process of replacing the pump on my 5r55w, i have the new pump, and the old one off. Now i am looking at them and the old one has 2 oring type things on the bottom of the pump ( where if goes in the trans) and my new one does not, now i am looking for those 2 o rings, but cannot find them anywhere. I was going to use the old ones but they are shot. So i guess my question is where can i find these???

Google 5r55w transmission components, otherwise call your local transmission shops. I gaurantee some one there will sell you some, or at least point you in the right direction. It may help to throw around the idea of future buisiness with them. Good luck bud, i know how much of a pain it is to locate those misc parts. Also make sure your new pump has the SONAX update to the valve. Keep us posted?

yeah it is being a big pita! lol, how can i tell if it has the sonax update?

Im not quite sure to be honest, i just had my transmission rebuilt and my guy made a HUGE deal about making sure it had it, he was able to tell with just a quick look-see. Check out their website, its an overload of super technical knowledge on several transmissions, they sell about a dozen special tool kits and parts for the 5r55w/s to correct a lot of factory short comings, im sure you can find the kit for your front pump and compare, worst case is take it to your favorite trans shop and have them check it, depending on how much they want your future buisiness they may do the check and give you some o-rings for free (ive had o-rings given to me all over the place because it would cost them more to write me an invoice than the o-ring would earn them haha.).

Have you already had the servo bores sleeved? now would be a hugely opportune time to do them if not, they are gauranteed to have worn through the case by 140k ish miles and you will lose shifts into 2nd, 3rd, and 5th eventually. Just a thought.

The only way to tell if the Sonnax valve is installed is to take it apart, I do not recommend you do this because you will need a special line up tool to put it back together. If it is a brand new pump it will not have the Sonnax valve in it but the factory valve should work fine. The Sonnax valve replaces the worn factory valve so if it is a new pump with a new valve it wont be worn.

I haven't seen to many of the sealing rings on the back of the pump wear out, you should be able to reuse them if you can come up with new ones. If the sealing rings are bad you may need to look inside the trans where they ride and check that drum it could be damaged also. Its not a high failure spot, and nether is the pump..

To install the sleeves in the case the entire transmission must be torn down and then you might as well completely rebuild it.

Thank you for the expert opinion sir! :D

trans shop or dealer. the dealer should be able to get just the rings, if not, a overhaul seal kit should contain them.

What websit are you talking about?? i need a couple more things before i put this back together. Also about those rings, ( feel like a jacka## lol) but i thought they were broken but just looks like they are made that way, then both are cut at like a 45 degree angle. Also about that valve i have no clue just bought it rebuilt, so i am hoping it fixes the no moving problem. The servo bores have not been sleeved and realy dont want to tear down this trans, just hoping this gets it running for a little longer
