95 XLT
Hello to all,
I have seen at crutchfield and various stores I have called dealing with the 95 xlt I have about what speaker size goes in the front and rear doors. It looks to me like 5x7 in the front then the back would be able to do 6x8. I am going to attempt to put speakers in myself. I have found instructions with pictures on removing the doors. I don't want to purchase speakers that won't fit. I want something where I can unscrew the speakers in now and put in new ones. Without having to move/cut anything. Now that I come to think of it theres 4 screws holding speakers in. On 5x7's they have those 4 screws. Then on 6x8's they have some extra holes which I am guessing make them fit. I am looking for some advice before jumping into something with no idea of what to do. Thanks a bunch.

I know for fact that a 6x9 won't fit and i'd probally guess that a 6x8 won't fit into the steel frame of the door either but i'm not 100% sure but 6x9's won't.

5x7's fit, 6x8's fit and 6x9's fit with a little inginuity. 6x8's are the stock sized speakers in 1st gen x's, made specifically for Fords. I have 5x7 infinity's, they sound great. 6x8's are great speakers too, but 6x9's are by far the best bang for the buck. Good luck in your search!

do 95-97s have 5x7s all around?

so 6x8s in the rear doors...

I have 6x8's in all doors. Its very, very easy to put 6x9's in the rear doors. You just need to watch the tweeter hieght. You need a speaker that the tweet doesn't stick up to far from the top of th woofer. Yeah that and your magnet depth :D

I'm selling my Kenwood Excelon 6x8s for 60 bucks
email xxmiggaxx@aol.com if interested

6x9's in a 2door sport are very easy to install in the back, a little bit of minor trimming and they fit in perfect. I recommend Sony Xplod 6x9 if your gonna do it, do it right.

so wil the sony 6x9 ( SON XSV6932 ) or the Infinity 5 x 7 ( INI 5752CF ) fit my 95 X?

looking into new speakers and want ones that'll go in w/o trimming or much trouble.

If you want a direct swap go wih the 5x7/6x8. If you have some time and want to do the 6x9's they are possible if the speakers magnet and tweeter height isn't too high.

are the ones apove to high or won't fir?

The 5x7's will fit. 6x9s will require modification.
