'93 Ford Ranger 4.0 v6
This seems to be a common issue. I havent been able to find any replies to this issue other than checking tires;balance, wear, etc. I just bought a '93 ranger xt. 4.0 5 speed I only had $2500 so my options were limited. For $1800 I got a smooth quick little truck. Other than some cosmetic bits it's perfect. I spend a good bit of time on the interstate, speed limit is 80+ over 60-65 it vibrates almost shakes. If thats the way it is with these things I'll vibrate or take a slower scenic route. anyone able to steady these once they start this? I'm also worried about the potential of the shake turning into a wobble and shaking loose other probems, real problems. any advise, experience, or instruction is apreciated in advance.

The best advice I could give is to purchase a Haynes manual at your local parts store. Read up on everything you can find about the steering and suspension.

Take some time and visit a couple different alignment shops and get some estimates. Keep looking around till you find a shop that is ttb friendly. I mention this as there are lots of shops who do not understand the ttb and since it is always in motion it requires some actual thought to align them properly and there are shops that hate the ttb.

I'm guessing your vehicle has over 200,000 miles on it and probably poor maintenance. Lots of warn steering, suspension parts, shocks, and probably bad tires.

I guess neglect is a common issue. :)

If you search around this place, get yourself a Haynes and don't mind doing some wrenching, you can resolve these neglected maintenance issues.

You saved yourself some money up front for a reason. Time to invest some of that savings into the vehicle so it can be what you thought it could be when you bought it. Knowledge is power and this place has a lot of it written down to help you save some money :)
