welcome!!! I was told by the shop where i bought mine that the holes cant be cut out for 6x9's. But maybe they just didnt want to do it. I also think i read here that its cant be done.

i know crutchfield sells an adapter plate for 2nd gens. not sure about 1st but i really dont see any differance.

WOW now thats a first

I think that is the first time I have ever seen a question like that! (not that it is dumb or anything) usually when somebody asks about measurments it is tire size will they fit. I guess there are two cultures on this site. There are the street Ex's then there are us red-necks that take the things and are worried about jacking them up, power, and putting them in the mud. Welcome to the site by the way.

Its me again i have looked it up and it says that 6x8s are recomended but would i be able to put 6x9s in no companies are giving me that answer

u can put anything lol just depends on how much u are willing to put into it u can put a 15 in ur door if u want lol if u really want to put the 6X9s an easy way is to make a plate that goes over the hole and is like 1" thick(doesnt have to plate just make a spacer) then screw it to the door and the speaker to it then u just have to make a cover for it..that wont make it flush but it will work fine

cant u just get in there and make the hole a bit bigger to match it? the only thing i can see getting in the way is the mounting depth

that is probably the only problem. your door panels might not go back on without the speaker hitting it.

There was guy on here selling plates to make a 6x9 fit.

I had went to a place and they told me that only 6x8s can fit and that it would cost me 140 for a pair with a rms of 60 ooh by the way can you get me the persons page so i can get 6x9s to fit

This is his site www.mjmautoinnovations.com. but I hope that the guys on here who has done major audio system upgrade can confirm or deny if this job is a simple plate bolt on, or will it still require door modification.

i just cut the hole bigger and fit 6x9s in the back
if i had a digi cam ide post it...

I did that on a 96 ranger front door speakers. In my opinion it wasn't worth the effort. The depth was ok. Only issue was cutting out a bigger oval.
