I need a 7 degree reamer used to ream out tre and ball joints for custom steering. I have a 92 x with fullsize d44ttb and the tre are under knuckle and i want to move them over the knuckle. want to avoid the FA 600 pitman arm and get more clearance. already have the ball joint sleeves but cant afford to dish out the 100 bucks for a tool im gonna use twice! anyone able to help? Im in CA btw

How big of a reamer do you need? My neighbor has tons of used tools he sells (he sells them at the swap meet, every week). I can go through his 5 extra Roll Boxes and see if there is a 7 degree reamer in there.

Edit: BTW.. is this the style your looking for? The Funky Drill bit style?

Here's what he's looking for. It has to have the 7 deg taper or stated differently 1.5" per foot.
I borrowed this one.
I used it when I relocated the TRE from bottom to top.

Thats exactly what im looking for! money shot right there! now does anyone have that i can use is the major question....

more of a description here with pic

Diameter Small End0.500" (1/2")
Top of Taper1.000"
Bottom of Taper0.464"
Degree of Taper7 degree

tapered reamers for proper fitting of ball joints to spindles, tie rod ends to spindles, etc. These have 1/2" shank. The 1-1/2" per foot reamer, also known as a 7° tapered reamer

Measures a little less than 1/2" at the small end and 1" at the big end

any chance of borrowing the one you borrowed?

I just contacted the person who is a moderator on this site, and he no longer has it due to trading it for some tools that he can use everyday. That's the problem with these reamers, just don't need them that often. May just have to bite the bullet and buy one.
How about a front end shop? I can't imagine charging much to ream a hole out.

I checked my neighbors boxes and he doesn't have the right reamers. He has some small ones (non tapered) but that's not what you need.
