So, this weekend here in Atlanta made me feel like I was again a kid in a candy store. 4 Wheel Parts presented there Truck Fest show. During my visit, I came across the OX vendor and asked if and how much for the 8.8 locker. He unfortunately said that they currently do not manufacture them yet, but should be in production in about 2 months. So sounds like a good Christmas gift coming up.

The quality of everything was unbelievable, the differential cover was CNC forged steel and almost 1/2" thick which they say makes it pretty much bulletproof. Next was the Locker Shifter, it was designed out of billet aluminum and allowed the user to lock in the desired position of the locker. The locker itself was impressive, but as to that I do know that much about other manufactures product I can compare them. I can't wait till these come out on the market and hope OX brings a comeback with this new quality product.

The vendor figured the price would stay around the same cost of there other lockers for other model differentials. If you check out there website, they have some cost of the required hardware. It seemed like the prices on there site are msrp, so you can figure to get it a little cheaper through you local dealer.

But my thought on roughly cost of a rear differential setup would be:

8.8 OX Locker - $850.00
Cable 100" - $130.00 <-"Could be more or cheaper depending on length of cable"
+ Tax & Install

All OX lockers are manual operated via the Locker Shifter.

My thoughts are with this setup is that it is the most reliable rather then being electric or air operated.

Reliability also is a factor of the entire system, not just the cable part. But talk to Spas since she runs an OX locker in the D44.

BTW that price is pretty high... a real Detroit locker is cheaper ($630) and would probably be more reliable -- its non selectable but I run this locker in the GM 14-bolt and it wont chirp the tires unless you mash the gas.

Sorry, I was referring to that as 2 separate comments. I agree, its a must to have an entire system that is reliable.

seen them in a j**p and they are sweet. A kid here had one and recommended it and said engagement has never been a problem
