i've just purchased a 3" body lift and 33/12.5/15 BFG A/T, can i use the stock rims to mount the tires on . will there be any rubbing issues and will i have to trim the wheel wells?

If I remember correctly, you will have rubbing with 33" tires and a 3" body lift.

I'm running a 4" or so suspension lift (8" rim 3.75 backspacing) and I rub on my RA arms..

When I put on 33x12.50's BFG ATs I cut my front fenders (rear part) to make them fit better...

Your talking body lift and not suspension but I still think your gonna not fit at the back of the fender.

thanks for the info. another ? is i have a complete 79 F-150 4x4 with the 44 frt and 9" rear, would it be possible to put my explorer 4dr body on that frame? i know there would be alot of fabbing to do but is it more practicle than swaping the 79 diffs into my explorer. my buddy jim_wrench has a 92 eddie bauer with the 79 diffs under his and running 37/13/15 boggers.but i dont want to be that high

The member Arsoul on here swapped an explorer body on a old F250, he is the only one, where as many of us have swapped axles under our trucks. Search his name for the info on that.

Here is my truck, 32x11.50 on stock rims with a 3" body lift. I needed to trim the running boards mildly. You could easily add F150 spacers in the front and you should be fine.

I'd put the axles under the explorer, It might actually be easier and probably better looking than a small explorer body and such a big frame. And you will appreciate the smaller wheelbase when going through trails.
