- 1991 Explorer 4WD Eddie
Hey guys, first post. Been reading through the forum for a while. A few weeks ago my dad and younger brother purchased a 1991 Eddie Bauer 4WD to use driving to to our hunting spots. We got a decent deal, but it definitely needs some work! Front wheel bearings, brakes all around, shocks, rear main seal, and the radiator leaks intermittently. Oh, and the rear diff case gasket seeps a little bit and I can see seal material hanging from the front diff pinion seal. Has nearly 204k miles on what seems to be the original drivetrain. We are only the 3rd owners! There is a long road ahead, but she seems solid. Drives decent all things considered. Transmission seems to shift fine for the most part, all of the fluids are clean. I'm excited to work on this truck with my family. We have plenty of reading to do, and I'm sure we'll be asking some questions. The first thing we'll need help with is the A/C. The cooling system appears to work fine and the vacuum actuated inside/outside blend door works fine. For some reason the vents only blow through the floor. I'll be looking into it and asking more in the appropriate area.
