1991 Ford Ranger
Need help.....I have a 1991 ford ranger. I drove the truck to get gas and then replaced the battery. Now it won't start. It turns over, but it won't fire. I have replaced the fuel pump and still won't work. I have checked the fuel pump relay and it clicks. Anyone know what else it could be?

91 ranger wont start?

I don't know much but I have learned that if it turns over but wont start it could be one of three things. First, for combustion to take place you need fuel, which you have already checked and sounds like the pump is working. Secondly, you need oxygen, so check your air filter. It may be in bad shape and simply needs replacing, if so, cheap to fix. Lastly, for combustion in the cylinder you need compression. They make compression testers that fit in place of a spark plug. If too low you may have warped head or other problems. I hope this helps. Now Im going to go try to get my 91 ford ranger started. It just makes clicks. Good Luck.
