Hi, new to your site and could use some help with a strange electrical problem.

1991 Ranger 2.9L

Headlights, taillights, parking lights and interior dome light stopped working. Radio stopped at the same time. It seems to have power, but no time or station displayed and just gives static when switched on.

Checked the fuses under dash and under hood, all are ok. Headlight switch is also fine.

Directional signals, stop lights, high beams (steering wheel stalk) and four way flashers all work.

thanks,
rs

My celica did the same thing turns out there was a wire that came loose from the harness and was shorting out the lights. Lol i drove for 3 months at night with the flashers on so i didnt get hit but i only got one ticket!

fuze 26 keeps blowing---the instant you plug in---2000 ford ranger 3.0 diconnected---window switches---shift module--dom light--could not find battery saver module

Still trying to correct this problem. Spoke with dealership; they said it may be a loose ground wire. My radio is still acting strange; it does not hold the memory when the vehicle is turned off and it will occasionally work when the vehicle is started. It all seems to be tied to the light switch, but that is the first item I replaced.

The truck needs to go for state inspection soon.

Anyone..........

Thanks, rs
