Turns out ive been around this place for like 6 yrs now and im not able to get into a the 911 forum. I dont really care why its not working but i could really use some help.

I have my truck liftetd up in my shop right now, with no clue where my chiltons is and I just took my fuel filter off to change it and was about to put the new one on when i noticed that the direction of the old filter is opposite of the direction the new aarow is facing on this new filter.

Like my profile says its a 93 and i was be grateful if someone could give me a hand with this PLEASE!!!!

What direction should the filter go???

I do realize this will prolly mean someones gonna have to get under thier Ex to see which side the flat end faces, but i would greatly apprecaite it... i've gotta go out and get fitted tonight... and my wedding is in 2 months...

You want the arrow to go the direction the flow is.

Thats what i was thinking but how has this thing been runing for the last 145,000 miles?

Anyone feel like crawlin under thier 91-94 Ex and tell me the direction?

Haynes manual says to put the filter with the arrow in the same direction as the old. Not sure if that helps or not. =\

Come on,

Anyone with a 91-94 willing to climb under for less than 30 seconds to take a look for me??

The arrow points in the direction of flow... And I don't think which way your fuel filter goes on is considered a "crisis situation" but what do I know..

my 2000 points towards the motor not the gas tank

yup the arrow points to the engine, away from the tank... its this way on my 94 and that way on my moms 96 and has been that way on all the explorers i have ever worked on....

Yup - Arrows are the flow. Go with the arrow pointing to the engine.

It was installed backwards the last time...good thing they don't have check valves...buddy would have been scratching his head as to why there is no fuel flow

Thanks for your help everyone,

As far as why this was of such importance... I had an appointment to go get measured tonight so that i would have something to wear on the day i get married. When your 6'8" they laugh at you if you think you could just walk into any old shop to get a suit...

It took a few turn overs before it started but im sure thats normal in that it had to repressurize the system.
